La Liga leaders have been hit with another setback, after the capital club lost away 1-0 to Sevilla at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Sunday night, leaving the title fight open.
Lucas Ocampos had the chance to score the opening goal in the 8th minute, but his penalty was saved by Atletico Madrid goalkeeper, Jan Oblak. The only goal in the encounter was scored in the 70th minute, after two Sevilla fullbacks linked up well, as Jesus Navas sent in a lovely cross and Marcos Acuna headed home the ball.
The La Liga race is not wide open, as Atletico Madrid are just 3 points above local rivals, Real Madrid, and they could be 1 point ahead of Barcelona if the Catalan giants win their match on Monday night. Sevilla, on the other hand, move closer to sealing their top 4 spot, as they sit 12 points above fifth-placed Real Betis.
Do you think Atletico Madrid can still win the league?
