Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo has hit another milestone after scoring the 2 goals for Portugal in their 2-0 win over Sweden in the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday night.
Ronaldo, who missed the first match due to injury, scored a brilliant freekick to give the current European champions the lead in the first half added time. The Portugal captain then scored the second goal with a beautiful curler from outside the box in the 72nd minute.
Ronaldo’s first goal was his 100th goal for Portugal to become only the second player ever to score a hundred international goals. He now has 101 goals for the national team, 8 goals behind Ali Daei, who scored 109 goals for Iran.
The 35-year-old forward is chasing the record to become the highest goal scorer for a national team, with Portugal having 4 more matches to play in the Nations League group stage in 2020.
Do you think ronaldo will beat Daei’s record?
