Arsenal shocked the Premier League champions, Liverpool, by coming from a goal down to defeat the Reds at the Emirates Stadium, to increase their chance of qualifying for Europa League.
Sadio Mane scored the first goal of the game after a lovely low drive from Andrew Robertson. Blunders from Virgil Van Dijk and Alisson Becker gave the Gunners 2 goals before the break. Young Reiss Nelson bullied VVD off the ball before Alexandre Lacazette rounded the keeper to equalise in the 32nd minute. Later on, Alisson’s pass to Lacazette and follow through to Nelson would secure the Gunners with the winning goal in the 44th minute.
Arsenal are still 9th on the log but are now, a slimmer 3 points away from a Europa League slot. Liverpool, on the other hand, have lost the chance to win the coveted 100 points, they have just 93 points with 2 games to go. The chase is over.
