Match of the Week

Everton V Arsenal

Everton v Arsenal 19/12/2020 18:30
MY11 SAY 2-0

This will be a battle between a team on the rise and a team on the low, as Alex Iwobi's Everton will be welcoming Mikel Arteta and his Arsenal team to Goodison Park.

In 56 Premier League meetings between these two teams, Everton have won just 8 games, while Arsenal have won 34 matches, with the other 14 games ending in a draw. The Gunners have not scored in their last 2 visits to Goodison Park.

Everton will be without Player, Allan, Fabian Delph, Lucas Digne, and Jean-Philippe Gbamin due to injury, while James Rodriguez and Seamus Coleman are major doubts. Arsenal, on the other hand, will be without Reiss Nelson and Thomas Partey, while Gabriel and Granit Xhaka are suspended.

Everton picked up their form, defeating Chelsea and Leicester City, while the Gunners are still on a poor run. This looks like another match that could end in tears for Arsenal.

Match of the Week

Barcelona V Valencia

Barcelona v Valencia 19/12/2020 16:15
MY11 SAY 3-1

All eyes will be on Camp Nou when Barcelona and Valencia face each other as Ronald Koeman and his team will want to win 3 straight games for the first time this season.

In the last 53 meetings between these two teams, Barcelona have won 26 games, while Valencia have won 12 matches, with the other 15 games ending in a draw. Los Che had won 2 of their last 5 encounters and the Catalan giants have won just 1.

Barcelona will be without Sergi Roberto, Gerard Piqué, and Ansu Fati due to injury. Valencia, on the other hand, will be without Maximiliano Gómez, Hugo Guillamón, Kevin Gameiro, and Jasper Cillessen.

Valencia have been struggling all season, after losing some of their key players in the summer, while Barcelona have had mixed results, and despite their good run, their performance is still not continuing. At Camp Nou, Koeman's men should pick all 3 points.

Late Firmino strike gives Liverpool all 3 points against Mourinho’s Tottenham - RESULT: 2 - 1

Brazil Star Roberto Firmino scored a powerful header late in the game to hand Liverpool a 2-1 win over a dogged Jose Mourinho side at Anfield on Wednesday night.

Mohamed Salah scored the opening goal in the 26th minute after his shot was deflected into the top corner. Heung-Min Son equalized for the visitors, 7 minutes later, with a defense splitting pass from Giovani Lo Celso, beating the offside line. In the 90th minute, Firmino jumped higher than everybody to head home a corner kick from Andrew Robertson to win it for the defending champions.

With that win, Liverpool are now top of the Premier League table, 3 points above Jose Mourinho and his Tottenham side, who dropped to third following the defeat to Klopp’s men.

Former Manchester United striker, Romelu Lukaku scored a decisive penalty as Inter Milan defeated Napoli 1-0 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, popularly known as the San Siro on Wednesday night.

Inter were awarded a penalty in the match in the 71st minute after goalkeeper David Ospina brought down Matteo Darmian, and the referee controversially sent off Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne afterwards. Lukaku stepped up to take the spot-kick and sent the keeper the wrong way.

Inter Milan remain second on the table, and are now one point behind local rivals and leaders, AC Milan, while Napoli dropped to fourth on the log, one point behind Juventus.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo finally misses a penalty as Juventus and Atalanta end in stalemate

Five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo's penalty streak ended and he failed to win it for Juventus by missing a penalty as the defending champions played out a 1-1 draw against Atalanta at the Allianz Stadium on Wednesday night.

Federico Chiesa scored the opening goal in the 29th minute with a lovely strike from outside the box. Remo Freuler equally matched that with another beautiful strike in the 57th minute to level matters. On the hour mark, Chiesa was brought down in the box by Hans Hateboer, and Ronaldo stepped up to take the spot-kick, but Atalanta goalkeeper, Pierluigi Gollini saved the weak penalty from the Portuguese.

Ronaldo has scored 7 consecutive penalties for the Old Lady this season. Gollini is the first goalkeeper to stop the Portuguese from scoring a penalty, and his first miss has cost Juventus all 3 points.

Juventus moved up to third on the log with that draw but missed the chance to close in on AC Milan, who also finished with a draw away to Genoa. Atalanta, on the other hand, moved up to eight on the long.

Do you think Juventus will sack Pirlo?

Mesut Ozil and Mikel Arteta

Should Arsenal sack or keep Mikel Arteta?

Arsenal are on their worse start to a season in 61 years and some fans have been calling for the sack of their manager Mikel Arteta, but is terminating the contract of the Spaniard the solution to the club’s problem?

The Gunners have amassed just 13 points in the first 12 matches in the Premier League, losing 7 games, to record their worst start since 1959 and they are 5 points off the relegation zone.

The major problem with the North London club is a lack of creativity in the midfield, with very few passes reaching the strikers, still Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has found it difficult to score goals.

One of the most creative players in the world, Mesut Ozil has been axed by the club and fans are asking why the German is not getting into the team. It is believed that the 32-year-old is the missing link for the Gunners.

In 600 club games in all competitions, Ozil has 105 goals and has provided 216 assists. In 254 matches for Arsenal, the German has scored 44 and provided 77 assists, but under Mikel Arteta, he has featured only 12 times, scoring just 1 goal and 1 assist.

Do you think Ozil can revive Arsenal’s season?
