Former Super Eagles striker, Odion Jude Ighalo, who has signed for
Premier League side Manchester United has revealed his plans for
the Red Devils after his arrival on Sunday morning.
The 30-year-old striker, who signed from Chinese Super League
side Shanghai Shenhua on transfer deadline day, revealed that
a move to Manchester United was a dream come true and that he
will help his team finish very well this season.
Ighalo told Sky Sports News that: “It’s a dream come true
because since I was a kid I followed and dreamt of Manchester United.
But it is a reality now. I cannot say much more now until I get started.”
The 2019 AFCON top scorer continued: “It’s been crazy. Obviously,
I am happy to be in Manchester first of all. This is a great
opportunity for me and I am grateful to God, and to my agent,
and the coach who has given me this opportunity to be here.
“I am happy to be here and to work out with the team and
finish very well this season. The plan is to just chill today
because I travelled a very long way from Shanghai to Manchester.
Today is to just rest and tomorrow we start to work,” he added.
Do you think Ighalo will do well with Manchester United?
The retired Super Eagles striker was brought in to stand in
for injured Marcus Rashford, who is Manchester United’s top
goalscorer this season with 19 goals in all competitions,
but the question remains if he will be signed permanently
if the England international striker returns.
Can Ighalo and Rashford play together for United?
