Nigeria Super Eagles

Nigeria v Sierra Leone
MY11 SAY 2-0

The Naija Super Eagles will take on the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in the first leg of the doubleheader of the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers on Friday.

These two national teams have faced each other 14 times in all competitions, and Nigeria have won 9 games, with Sierra Leone have won just 2 matches, with the other 3 games ending in a draw.

The Naija Super Eagles will be without Kenneth Omeruo, Henry Onyeka, and Moses Simon due to injury, and they have been replaced by Paul Onuachu and Abdulahi Shehu, and all the players are in camp. Sierra Leone, on the other hand, have also arrived in Nigeria and are ready for the clash.

Nigeria are top of Group L and a win will get them closer to the 2021 AFCON tournament, while the Leone Stars are bottom of the table with one point. The Eagles should win this game without any pressure.

Nigerian Super Eagles Victor Osimhen

Osimhen becomes Napoli’s Hero!

Naija Super Eagles star, Victor Osimhen is living up to the price tag as he became the hero for Napoli in their Serie A clash at the weekend against Bologna, after he scored the only goal for the Napolians.

The goal came before the half-hour mark when Osimhen connected with a beautiful cross from Hirving Lazano to score a fine header in the 23rd minute, and that goal was enough to give Gil Azzurri all 3 points.

Osimhen joined Napoli from Lille in the summer, for an African record fee of 80 million euros (plus add-ons), and after an impressive pre-season, he has had a slow start to life in the Serie A, but with 2 goals in his last 4 matches for Napoli, Osimhen is becoming a hero for the Italian side.

The goal helped send Napoli to third on the log, with 14 points in their first 7 matches, stretching their unbeaten run away from home to 3

Naija Super Eagles technical adviser Gernot Rohr will hope Victor Osimhen can replicate his form for the national team when Nigeria take on Sierra Leone in the doubleheader of the African Cup of Nations qualifiers on the 13th and 17th of November.

Do you think Osimhen will do well with Napoli?

Valencia V Real Madrid

Valencia thrash Real Madrid in a controversial match - RESULT: 4 - 1

Struggling Valencia thrashed defending champions Real Madrid 4-1 at the Mestalla Stadium in a controversial match that saw Carlos Soler score a hat trick of penalties on Sunday night.

Karim Benzema scored the opening goal for the Whites in the 23rd minute with a beautiful shot from outside the box. Lucas Vasquez conceded a penalty 7 minutes later with a handball. Thibaut Courtois saved Soler’s spot-kick, and Yunus Musah scored the rebound, but the goal was chalked off due to encroachment. Soler made no mistake with the retake of the penalty. Blancos defender Raphael Varane then scored a bizarre own goal in the 43rd minute. The referee then awarded the host another controversial penalty for a Marcelo foul, and Soler slotted home from 12-yards. After the hour mark, Ramos handled the ball in the 18-yard and the referee awarded another penalty and Soler scored his hat trick of penalties.

With that win, Valencia moved into the top 10 of the La Liga table, while Real Madrid missed a chance to go back to second on the log, while their inconsistencies continue.

Lazio V Juventus

Late Lazio goal cancels Ronaldo’s opener for Juventus - RESULT: 1 - 1

Felipe Caicedo scored a very late equalizer to cancel out Cristiano Ronaldo opener, as the match between Lazio and Juventus ended in a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.

Five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Ronaldo started his first league game since recovering from COVID-19, and he scored the opener in the 15th minute with a tap in from a Juan Cuadrado cross. The Portuguese then missed the chance to score number 2 after hitting the woodwork before the break. Caicedo then scored a late equalizer for the Romans in the 95th minute, after a brilliant run from Joaquin Correa.

Lazio have moved up from 11th to 9th on the Serie A table with that draw, while Juventus dropped out of the top 4 to mount more pressure on manager Andrea Pirlo.

Tottenham Star Harry Kane

Harry Kane a world class striker?

Many English players are regarded as average, but Harry Kane seems to be different with his impressive numbers. Here My11 take a look at his stats ahead of Tottenham’s Premier League clash with West Bromwich Albion.

Kane scored his 200th goal for Spurs on his 300th appearance for the London club, in their 4-1 away win in the UEFA Europa League against Ludogorets Razgrad on Thursday night.

In the last 6 season, Kane has scored at least 24 goals in all competitions, with a career-high of 41 goals in the 2017/2018 season, and he has won the EPL golden boots on 2 different occasions (2015/2016 and 2016/2017).

The 27-year-old striker featured in 300 competitive matches for Tottenham, scoring 200 goals, and provided 56 assists, and he is now 3rd all-time highest goal scorer for Spurs, behind Jimmy Greaves (379 goals) and Bobby Smith (317 goals).

The unfortunate part of Harry Kane’s career is that, despite all his goals, he has not won a single trophy. His best achievement is finishing second in the 2014/2015 Football League cup and UEFA Champions League in 2018/2019.

Match of the Week

Man City V Liverpool

Manchester City v Liverpool 08/11/2020 17:30
MY11 SAY 3-2

This has been the biggest fixture in the Premier League in recent years as Manchester City will be welcoming Liverpool to the Etihad Stadium on Super Sunday.

In 46 Premier League meetings between these two teams, Manchester City have won 10 games, Liverpool have won 20 matches, with the other 16 games ending in a draw. There have been at least 3 goals in four of their last five clashes.

Sergio Agüero is a major doubt for Manchester City, while Benjamin Mendy and captain Fernandinho are ruled out due to injury. Liverpool, on the other hand, will be without Virgil van Dijk, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, and Fabinho, while Joel Matip and Thiago are major doubts.

Both teams have not started as expected. The Cityzens are 10th with 11 points in 6 games, while the Reds have crawled to the top of the log with 16 points in 6 games. Van Dijk will be a major miss for Liverpool and City have Gabriel Jesus back with the team. This should be a narrow win at the end of 90 minutes.

Match of the Week

Valencia V Real Madrid

Valencia v Real Madrid 08/11/2020 21:00
MY11 SAY 1-3

All eyes will be on Estadio de Mestalla when struggling Valencia will be hosting in-form Real Madrid on Sunday night in what used to be a La Liga classic battle.

In the last 34 meetings between these two teams, Valencia have won 6 games, while Sevilla have won 19 matches, with the other 9 games ending in a draw. The Blancos have won their last 2 matches, scoring 3 goals.

Valencia will be without Vicente Esquerdo and Mouctar Diakhaby due to injury. Real Madrid on the other hand, will be without Nacho Fernandez, Álvaro Odriozola, and Daniel Carvajal due to injury, while Éder Militão is out after testing positive for COVID-19.

Valencia had a poor summer, selling some of their key players and with the sale of midfielder, Geoffrey Kondogbia, it will be difficult for them against Real Madrid, who are in red hot form. This should be an easy win for the Blancos.
