Premier League review: Arsenal

Naija prospect Bukayo Saka has been a revelation for the Gunners, who are 9th on the log. The North London club look to be back to life under their third manager this season.

Arsenal have 40 points in 28 matches. They have won 9, drew 13 and lost 6. The Gunners have scored a total of 40 goals and conceded 36 goals. Two stats that undermine their season. 9 wins, the lowest among the top 12, and 13 draw, joint highest in the league.

The Gunners are just 8 points off the Champions League places and since Mikel Arteta took charge, they’ve played 10 matches, won 4, drawn 5 and lost 1 game to Chelsea. Arsenal need to turn their draws to victories if they are to make the top 4.

Ighalo agrees personal terms with Man United

Former Naija striker, Odion Ighalo, has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Manchester United after the Lagos-born footballer impressed the club in the few games he’s played.

According to reports from a Man United journalist, the Red Devils have made a bid of around £15 million to keep the Ajegunle star at Old Trafford beyond this summer.

If Ighalo signs for Manchester United permanently, he will miss out on the #192.2m (£400,000) offered by his parent club Shanghai Greenland Shenhua.

If you were Ighalo, what would you do?

Premier League review: Burnley

Now we are in the top 10 and the team occupying the 10th position is Burnley, who are managed by Sean Dyche and they have been rugged since their return to the Premier League in 2016 and this is their second-best run in the top flight.

The Clarets have 39 points in 29 matches. They have won 11, drew 6 and lost 12. The Seagulls have scored a total of 34 goals and conceded 40 goals. They have 3 strikers who have scored 22 of their goals. Chris Wood with 11, Ashley Barnes with 6 and Jay Rodriguez has scored 5.

Many football fans may call them boring or defensive, but they find ways to win, and they have won the most games than teams in the top 5, more than Arsenal. Manager Dyche has been able to get maximum output from his experienced players.

Premier League Review: Crystal Palace

The Eagles are 11th on the log and have recovered from a run of 1 win in 10 games to win 3 consecutive matches in the Premier League, edging closer to another survival.

Crystal Palace have won 39 points from 29 matches. They won 10, drew 9 and lost 10. The Eagles have scored a total of 26 goals and conceded 32 goals. Another team that have forgotten how to score goals, but defensively, they have been impressive.

Roy Hodgson’s Eagles always find a way to revive their season towards the business end of the season and are not close to safety, 1 point behind the supposed 40-point safety mark.

Premier League Review: Everton

Alex Iwobi’s Everton are 12th on the log and have recovered from the poor run of form under Marco Silva at the start of the season, thanks to club legend Duncan Ferguson and Carlo Ancelotti.

The Toffees have won 37 points from 29 matches. They won 10, drew 7 and lost 12. The Toffees have scored a total of 37 goals and conceded 46 goals. The Naija man in the mix, Iwobi has not added much to his new team in terms of goals, as he has just one goal in 18 games.

The appointment of Carlo Ancelloti was a blessing for Everton as they have won 5 games, drawn 3 lost 3 in the 11 games he has taken charge of, 1 point less than the Toffees had in the previous 18 games.

Premier League Review: Newcastle United

The Magpies are 13th on the league table and many Premier League fans are surprised they are not in the relegation zone with their poor stats.

Newcastle have won 35 points from 29 matches. They won 9, drew 8 and lost 12. The Magpies have scored a total of 25 goals and conceded 41 goals. Steve Bruce’s side have 5 recognised strikers with over 60 appearances altogether and they have scored just 1 goal all season.

After letting Rafa Benitez leave and appointing Steve Bruce, what would you expect? The Magpies, alongside Norwich, are the worst scoring side in the league. Defenders have contributed 12 goals. It‘s a big surprise they are 8 points above relegation.

Will Ighalo take Man United’s #48.4m offer over XXXX

It seems like Odion Jude Ighalo has been made an offer by Manchester United for him to wear the Red Devil’s jersey permanently, but the deal is way, way less than what his parent club offered.

Ighalo currently earns £300,000 (#145.2m) weekly, which is shared by both Shanghai Greenland Shenhua and Manchester United, this new deal will earn the retired Naija striker just £100,000 (#48.4m) a week.

According to the Daily Star, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants Ighalo to stay, but only if he takes a £200,000 (#96.8m) pay cut from his current wage, and £300,000 (#145.2m) short of the £400,000 (#193.6m) Shanghai Shenhua are offering.

We believe that Ighalo has made a real impact at Old Trafford, with 4 goals in 3 starts and winning the goal of the month for March. We are on the edge of our seats waiting for our boy to speak.

Should Ighalo sign for Man United or return to China?
