Villarreal V Barcelona

Classic Barcelona score 4 against Chukwueze’s Villarreal - RESULT: 1 - 4

Defending champions Barcelona put up their best performance against Samuel CHukwueze and his Villarreal teammates to defeat the Yellow Submarine 4-1 at the El Madrigal.

Barcelona did not waste time before taking the lead through a Pau Torres own goal in the 3rd minute. Gerard Moreno Moreno equalised for the home side in the 14th minute, but sublime goals from Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann in the 20th and 45th minute wrapped up an impressive first half. 17-year-old Ansu Fati scored the 4th goal in the 86th minute.

Samuel Chukwueze played all 90 minutes and he had a good game, but his performance could not salvage a point for Villarreal. Barcelona, on the other hand, remain 4 points behind Real Madrid.

Barcelona V Atl Madrid

Messi’s milestone not enough to earn Barcelona victory against Atletico Madrid - RESULT: 2 - 2

Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi, scored his 700th career goal but it was not enough to earn the Catalan giants a win, as they were forced to a 2-2 draw against Atletico Madrid at the Camp Nou on Tuesday night.

Barcelona drew first blood following an own goal by Diego Costa from a Lionel Messi corner in the 11th minute. Atletico Madrid equalized from a penalty in the 19th minute. Marc-Andre ter Stegen saved the kick from Costa but stepped off the line before Saul Niguez scored the retake. Messi then scored his milestone goal with a cheeky panenka penalty in the 50th minute. The visitors were awarded another penalty and Saul scored again in the 62nd minute.

Barcelona could be 4 points behind Real Madrid after the draw 2-2 draw if the leaders win against Getafe, and the Catalan club look to be having an internal crisis while Atletico Madrid remain 3rd on the log.

Ighalo equals 95-year-old Man United record with FA Cup goal

Former Naija Super Eagles striker, Odion Jude Ighalo has equalled a 95-year-old Manchester United record, after scoring a goal for the Red Devils in the FA Cup win over Norwich City.

The 31-year-old Naija striker scored a brilliant poacher’s goal in the 51st minute to give Manchester United the opening goal in the match after 2 Norwich players went for the same ball and Ighalo coolly slotted in the goal.

With that, Ighalo has now achieved many Manchester United great stars could not achieve, scoring in his first 4 starts for the club. A feat only achieved by Jimmy Hanson, back in 1925.

How many goals will Ighalo score for Man United this season?
