Real Madrid are looking to win their first points of the Champions League and will be traveling to Germany to face Borussia Moenchengladbach, who drew their first match, at the Borussia Park on Tuesday night.

 

There have been 4 meetings between these two teams in the Champions League with both teams defeating each other once and two games ending in a draw, both have scored 8 goals in those games.

 

Moenchengladbach will be without Mamadou Doucoure, Louis Jordan Beyer, and Denis Zakaria due to injury. Real Madrid, on the other hand, got an injury boost with the return of Eden Hazard to full training but will be without Nacho Fernandez, Martin Ødegaard, Daniel Carvajal, and Álvaro Odriozoladue to injury.

 

Real Madrid are looking to redeem their image, after the shock loss in their first match, and they are out to win all 3 points after the El Clasico win. Moenchengladbach need a home win to boost their chances of qualifying for the next round. This will be an interesting clash, but the Blancos are expected to edge it.

Liverpool V Midtjylland

After a narrow victory in their opening match, Liverpool are back to the Anfield Stadium and will be playing against FC Midtjylland, who are adjudged as the ‘weakest’ team in the group.

 

These two teams have never faced each other in the UEFA Champions League or any other competition, but Liverpool have won this prestigious competition 6 times, while FC Midtjylland are debutants.

 

Liverpool will be missing some key players starting with Virgil Van Dijk, who is out till May 2021, Joel Matip, Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Konstantinos Tsimikas due to injury. FC Midtjylland will also be without Jesper Hansen and Júnior Brumado due to injury.

 

Liverpool are not playing their best brand of football, but it will be hard to see beyond a comfortable victory for the Premier League champions. FC Midtjylland don’t have a chance against Jurgen Klopp’s Reds at Anfield.

AC Milan V Roma

Zlatan scores brace again as Milan v Roma ends in stalemate - RESULT: 3 - 3

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a brace for the second consecutive match in AC Milan’s 3-3 draw against Roma at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium, popularly known as the San Siro on Monday night.

 

Zlatan scored the opening goal in the 2nd minute of the game and Edin Dzeko equalized 12 minutes after. Alexis Saelemaekers scored the second goal for the home side, 2 minutes after the restart, Jordan Veretout equalized from the penalty in the 71st minute. Ibrahimovic then scored his second and Milan’s third goal from the spot-kick in the 79 minutes. Marash Kumbulla scored the leveller 5 minutes later to ensure the spoils were shared after 90 minutes.

 

 

Milan dropped points for the first time this season, but remain at the top of the table with 13 points, 2 points ahead of second-placed Napoli, while Roma are 9th on the log with 8 points.

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos voted the greatest defender of all time

Real Madrid's captain fantastic, Sergio Ramos has been voted the greatest defender of all time in an online pole by prestigious magazine France Football, following another impressive display against Barcelona in the El Clasico.

 

The debate on whether Ramos should be considered as one of the best defenders has been on for a while, with his poor disciplinary record, but his leadership, trophy cabinet, and his goals tally can not be overlooked.

 

The France Football named a Ballon d’Or dream team, with the 34-year-old Spaniard named among the defenders along with Beckenbauer, Franco Baresi, Cannavaro, Matthias Sammer, Bobby Moore, Pasarella, Koeman, Gaetano Scirea, and Desailly. But in an online pole on whether Ramos is the greatest, 67% of the voters agreed that the Real Madrid captain is the greatest defender of all time.

Leicester end terrible run against Arsenal

Wilfred Ndidi’s Leicester City ended their poor run of winless games away to Arsenal after defeating the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday night.

 

Arsenal scored a goal in the 4th minute, but the goal was controversially disallowed, as Granit Xhaka was judged to have been offside. Substitute, Jamie Vardy scored the only goal in the 80th minute, his 11th goal in 12 matches against the Gunners.

 

Leicester City have now defeated Arsenal away from home for the first time since September 1973, ending a run of 27 games without an away victory against the Gunners in all competitions.

Man United and Chelsea end in stalemate in a controversial match

The biggest game of matchday 6 between Manchester United and Chelsea ended in a goalless draw as the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) controversially ignored a penalty call for the visitors.

 

Both goalkeepers did not have much to do all 90 minutes, but Chelsea sho stopper Eduardo Mendy made a great save late on in the encounter to deny Marcus Rashford the winner for the Red Devils.

 

 

Chelsea thought they had a penalty in the first half after Manchester United captain Harry Maguire grabbed Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta in the 18-yard box, but VAR did not review the incident, and the game ended goalless.

Zidane extend unbeaten run as Real Madrid beat Barcelona in Clasico - RESULT: 1 - 3

Real Madrid win the first El Clasico of the season as Zinedine Zidane’s men defeated their arch-rival 3-1 at the Camp Nou on Saturday.

 

Fede Valverde scored the opening goal for the visitors in the 5th minute after a defense splitting pass from Karim Benzema. Teenage sensation Ansu Fati equalized for the home side 3 minutes later. Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos won and scored a penalty in the 63rd minute before Luca Modric scored the final goal in the 90th minute.

 

Zidane continued his impressive run of 6 games unbeaten at the Camp Nou. Real Madrid are now top of the table, 6 points ahead of Barcelona, who are 10th on the log.

The El Clasico is arguably the biggest game in world football, that has paraded the biggest stars and the greatest players, this time, Barcelona will be welcoming their greatest rival Real Madrid to the Camp Nou on Saturday for the first Clasico of the season.
